Hello everyone

New to this forum, good to see some true hardcore nova fans on here! Been looking though the features an some class nova's.
Think one of my fravs would have to be this one http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=1556. looks totally mint! How much do you think some thing like that is worth? I know it would be hard to put a price on it but just very intrested.

Cheers Dave

With a nova like that one it would be very difficult to sell it for a decent price as there are not many ppl willing to pay over ?3k for a 13yr old car no matter how mint.

It would be worth alot more if sold in bits.

Umm know whot you mean. Dought the owner would like to split it though, would you!!

You rec it would be about 3k then do you?

Whot would you value yours at if you were selling it?

lol - youve only gone and picked Annas nova - its absolutely minted.

It was restoted as though its just come out the factory - all the bolts are chromed (ie the suspension bolts!)

Its won tons of awards!

Its worth ???'s however in reality - unless you sell it to a specific market and to someone who knows the work thats gone into it and the amount spent, the perception is that of a 13 yr old car...

:|

Most cars that are restored like that though dont get sold - the owners get too attached to them.

How old are mk2 escorts again???????????????????????????????????????

And how much do they make even if they are rotten??????????

Novas are going up in value over time and i think that they will follow the same pattern as a mk2, mk1 escort or similar. No where near as crazy maybe but weel have to see........................

IIRC and I know Anna and Andy,

but this car has never been welded has it?

Doesnt make much difference but I know how much this car means to the owners and I dont think it would be fair to put a price on it!!

whats spent and what its worth are uber different things...

Id say a "mint" std nova is worth ?800 tops, and go from there lmao

most are worth more broken

One vital difference: the Mk1/2 Escort doesn't have the chav label attached to it like the Nova does

I'd like to see the same but think the escort is another class to be totally honest. But time will tell.

I have seen rally prep'd nova's to go for around 10k before, and if you added up the time and cost of the setup on it you'd be looking 15-16k maybe. I know yet again its another class thing altogether but that car was sold and made someome very very happy. It did look like an escort eater if you ask me!

Think about it, add all the time and money up that you've spent on your car (i.e. Anna's). If you worked the labour out at ?25 bet you'd be looking least 2k for that alone! or maybe more!! lol.

The time an money is crazy when you think about it!!!! Why do we do it!!!!!!!????????

Think its just down to whot your after or want really. Like if you were after a full on race, rally or track nova the only reason in getting some thing as mint as Anna's car would be the shell would it not?
Could swing both ways though, if it had all the bits on that you need could be worth a lot more to you.

Not sure were am off with this really but just wondered if you could value a car like that? You lads know the cars better then me!!

I dont think nova's do have a chav labels. Chavs are freaks and anyone who sees a chav in a nova should drastic measures to remove him or her from it!

Of course you would give 2k for annas car dont be silly. The time and effort that goes into a car like that is unbelievable and deserves so much credit.

I think we do stuff like that because well- take annas car for example if anna had bought that car the way it sits now (quote her on this) but she probably wouldnt like it as much because she hadnt put in the work and effort to get it how she wanted. You can take a certain amount of satisfaction from building a car like that - Keith is another good example a stunning car just the way he wants it like no one elses, pure class, its worth more to him than it will ever be to anyone else yet he will not get a fraction of what he has spent on it.

What would be the point of the like of keith or anna selling a car that they have put so much time and effort into never mind the moeny end of it??

Someone stop me.......................................

You might not, but ask anyone who's not on here (or some people that are lol) 'who drives novas?' I can bet the primary reply will be "chavs"!

I definately agree with what everyone is saying - a car is only worth what someone will pay for it.

I know mine probably doesn't appeal to everyone but those that do appreciate it would probably pay more for it. At the end of the day the car wasn't built to be worth a lot, it was just something we enjoyed doing (and not nearly as much was spent as people think!!). Although if Andy had charged by the hour for all his work it would have been pricey!!!

As for comparing them to an escort. They definately don't have the same reputation but the reason I decided to do all the work to the car was because it was different and made a change. I think nova's do have a bit of a bad reputation and when people ask what car I've got they often pull a face but when they actually see it their reaction is different!!! :o

Anna, that truely is a stunning Nova and a real credit to you. I love to see Nova's like you'rs, how they should be in my eyes.

I couldn't put a price on mine either, i have been asked to sell it a fair few times, but what i want and what i could get are two different things. My car too is a second car, being an RS 2000 4X4 as my daily runner, the Nova comes out only in good weather for shows. When i'm asked what i drive, i do actually feel quite embarresed, and i hate that, because when they actually see it they can't belive how clean it is.

Its funny when people ask me what car I drive and I say nova! you just know what they are thinking, a brown rusty shed that cost ?200 and does 70mph at a push, then they see it for real! And cant believe their eyes
