View Full Version : Manta GTE Recaros?

I think that the Manta GTE Recaros are the same as the MKI Astra ones...therefore, how easy are they to fit in a Nova?
I've rear before that you need Nova sports-seat sub-frames...is this right?
I'm after some Manta ones, as they're already in light grey velour, so would match my interior, whereas the Astra ones are dark grey/black.
As an alternative, what about the Capri 2.8 Injection Special, half-leather Recaros? Any ideas how to fit those, 'cos they are even better?

try getting some later SR subframes,I THINK these are what you need, the sort with seperate runners, and a hooj bar at the fromt to adjust the position water than the standard pencil one, best bets to have a rudy goooood look

I have got the astra gte seats in me nova all u need is the sub frame that comes with the seats. take the old ones out then put the new ones in they bolt on at the front fine and one side at rear( to your left if in passengerside, oppsite drivers side) then drill a hole and wack a bolt through. u will know where to do it once in front of ya.
its a peice of **** :D

Pag2001, could u just leave it with the 3 bolts in? i know in theory it should have 4, but could u leave it with just the 3? to save u making another 'rust prevoking' hole?

Come to think of it, the Ford fitment Recaros should be able to be fitted in the same way. My mates XR3i has RS Turbo Recaros, and they fasten to the floor with four bolts......I wonder if you just drill four holes in the right place, would those seats fit, without changing sub-frames???

not sure mate, but if your desperate for some sub frames I might be able to get a pair from the breakers,as theres a full late mk1 sr interior there, but I aint bothered with it cos its been soaked cos of no doors :( n the drivers support on the right has worn thru the material as usual. If your desperate for some cheap front seats,I might be able to put you in touch with my mate Daz,who has a fair amount of early Astra GTE bits including almost 3 interiors.other than that, try good old colin smith for the subframes,n possibly the interior,I have just got a nova GTE back seat off him,and he has 2 front seats to sell now...with subframes,I reckon he would be lookin for around ?50...

Cheers Bob......I'd prefer some Manta seats, as they're the lighter grey, but being a little short on cash, I'm interested in the Astra seats. How much, roughly, would cheap be?
I may also be interested in the GTE front seats.
The thing is, my interior is bright red and grey (being an Antibes), so it's a bugger fitting seats that match ok.
I want some Manta GTE seats preferably, as the outer edges are light grey like my interior, with darker grey centres.
The centres are like separate cushions that can easily be re-covered to make them match my interior.
Any other seat would be harder to make match. The Nova ones would have to be totally re-covered, as would the Astra ones, but at least the Nova GTE ones would be the right shade of grey.
I'll have to see how funds go as well. I'm not really desperate for seats at the mo, but I though I'd ask about the seats in advance, just in case I see some for sale.
Anyway...now I've found that my Weber I bought the other week, needs re-building, I've got to send cash in that direction, so seats are off for now....maybe...depending on price.
