Digi speedo

My speedo's stopped working, after the black cable came of, i took out the connector, and there was an earth pushed down the side of it, and a black/red?? wire, so i left the red/blue? wire put the black wire back to the hole it came from (is a live) and i put the earth in the bigger hole, on the left looking from the front if i remember correctly, is this right?? can someone give me advice or run out to thier digidashed car? :lol:
