Peco BB4???

I bought 1 of ebay and got it welded to my Nova today and it doesnt really sound much different is this normal?? My car is the 1.2 carb Mk1 any help appreciated cheers chaps :D

it doesnt help youve got a small engine

have you bought it second hand?

my one was loud when i first had it, but now it just doesnt seem as loud as with was, i think its just f***ed!

Put a straight through pipe on where your centre section is, the size of the engine makes no difference

Its got to make LOADS of difference, as more powerful engine, bigger bang, more sound.

nobbyznova-It probably does sound different outside the car but not inside, it should be quite loud as its a carb engine so no cat etc restricting flow.

It depends what you call loud tho.

Get a full system on there, then you'll hear it :wink:

not the difference he's talking about...as in no difference between standard and that, i've got a big bore on my 1.2 and its deafening on the motorway :roll:

I had a BB2 on my hatch. Came off a 1.3SR and it sounded better on my 1.2!

And yes it did sound much different to standard, but was NOT loud and raspy, which was perfect IMO.

it shudnt make 2 much diff, my mate hada bb4 on his 1.2 nova, and it was just a constant noise (bore) no rasp at all, he changed it after, he got a peco boxer back box, with a cherry bomb in the middle, and naw its really raspy n spits n farts n every fin sounds proper WRC style

alex i imadgion its not a straight fit one for the nova universal maybe :D

BB4 fitted to my first nova was horendously loud, as was the the peco fitted to my saloon, mainly because they were straight through boxes, the lateter BB4's have a bit more back-pressure built in so they are'nt as loud

I agree the later BB4s are not as loud as the older BB4s (green box with chrome end) I had an old BB4 and that sounded quite nice - not too loud on a 1.0 spin and then that BB4 was chucked onto my 1.5TD, not as loud because of the cat but theres a little rumble, prefer a nice rolled 3" exhaust (cherry bomb) - big & jap exhaust jus look to lairy now.

Cut it open and take the insides out , weld her up and it will be louder. if thats waht you want.
