Im also having problems with my twin dollortos on my 1400i luxe nova.

They were all set up ok for emissions at the mot, however it takes ages to start. I have to open the bonnet and flick on of the chokes to the side, I then have to pump the accelerator and keep trying to turn it over. This probably takes about 10 mins!

Is there anyway i can make this like a 10 sec start!!

Once warm its ok, but when i turn off the ignition it takes a while to start up again...im confused!!

you dont need chok on side draughts, just press throttle 4-5 times,

but i reckon the acceleration pump diapragms need replacing

Mines not exactly easy to start

it starts first time but is a bit more of a pig than it was before (a 1.2 carb)

but 10 mins sounds excessive lol - try Mr Gaults advice as he knows his stuff

your carbs arnt auto choke as thsy used to be on my 1600 rally engine
they need rejetting these were set up for a 1600 with a cam and bvh
a couple of pumps on the accelerator and they should be away
can always wire a choke cable to the chokes they do work then its a simple pull on the cable from inside the car....allthough you shouldnt need it if there set up correctly
