How do i go about fitting a push button start (no key required) to my vauxhall nova?

I see on the back of the button there are two spade ends. which wires do i need to connect up??

the two thin wires coming of the ignition barrel, one black and one red

you'd still need the key to overcome the steering lock, unless you remove that too

sorry to state the obvious

but that will make your car very very easy to steal

i think you have to drill the ignition barrel because its a round nut on it, you'll need an on off switch, connect the thick red and black wire to that, and get a push button connect the thin red and black to that, to start the car turn the on/off switch to on, that'll turn on the electrics etc, then push the starter to turn it over, turn the on/off switch to off to kill the engine :)

but if i just push the start button wouldnt the electrics come on when the engine fires up??

you would need ignition switches

you need a large toggle switch as the ign "on" switch, then the push button...

The electrics would come on if you wired it up to the starter button, but as soon as you took your finger of the button the electrics would be killed, even if they're was some strange way to make it so it all work together there would be no way to turn the engine of, youd have to stall it

thats why you need a toggle switch to run the ign part (not the start ciruit, thats done with the push button)
