Too true mate...on moving into my current home , I plonked a box down by the skirting board . We,d viewed the house with its previous owners , so had a mental image of where the funiture used to be . For some reason as the box was put on the floor I remembered that must have been where an armchair sat . I looked down , and saw something strange on the floor . It was a pile of nail clippings . Lots of em .

There is good advise on moving into a new property . Make sure you keep a kettle , tea / coffee and mugs , some bleach / cleaning stuff for the loo , and a bog roll handy.
The rest you can do the next day. An old bloke I worked with told me that on my first move. It aint funny sitting on an unclean lav with no paper I can certainly vouch..

I totally agree about the cleaning stuff & kettle etc.

Make sure that a box is filled with cleaning and bathroom supplies, and another box filled with things like kettle, coffee/tea/sugar, bread and stuff like that.

Pack these boxes, along with your microwave & tv last. That what when you arrive, the first thing off the van/out of the car will be stuff to clean any crap left by previous owner, stuff to make yourself and drink & some food... and the TV so you can have a rest when Neighbours comes on

if you need to take a big dog with you, its not the sort of place you should buy a house :o

i'm not buying it, i'm renting it til something better comes along
after i've got my business going again i'll be looking to buy some where with land and/or stables
i'm on the dole since my landlord kicked me off the yard i rented,he wanted to sell it, so til i'm up and running and after the sale of a few classy horses i've waiting for me to sort out i'll be able to afford to buy a better house with the cash from the sales so i don't have a mortgage
