my nova got nicked three or four weeks ago and they have not done nothin,not even contacted me done apsolultly nuthin.

i keep rining them and they do nuthin wot can i do ive run out of ideas?

i think you should remove ones head from there narrow minded ass.

lets face it, another car stolen is just another statistic as far as there concerned. if the car is ever flagged on a call it will come up stolen. but other then that. the whole force aint going to look out for luke 1400 sr nova.

dont talk to me about this subject!! ive had two nova's stolen and the cops have done bugger all, but lets face it; A - its a nova and B - they have better things to be doing in all honesty. Besides in my case what evidence will they get from a burnt out shell??
never did find any bits off mine and i know for deffinate it was stripped but hey thats what i get i suppose for leaving it at the front of the driveway

I would hope the police spend more of their time sorting out real crime than looking for a nova.

if they can't see it, there not expected to do a fingertip search of the whole of the UK for it.

unless the car was worth over ?50K OR someone was found dead in the boot OR a pile of drugs/cash in there then the police arent going to investigate it. They will give you a crime number so that you can claim on the insurance. simple really.

and as said by a few people, leave your narrowmindedness at home. If your cheeky to the police they will make your life hell because of that, you then be more cheeky and they get worse... simple really, show them a little respect etc talk to them politely and you might not get a bum raping in the cells lol.

Horrid as it is , the theft of vechiles is regarded with the attitude of mobile phones . Both are obviously a pain but, crime reference numbers are given , the item / car is logged and the insurance is applied for . It is all far to common .
I hope to god this isnt tempting fate ( knowing my luck ) but all these Novas that are getting nicked ...alarms are obviously used , but what about steering locks / batons ??

Bad luck on the nova. I've had most of the interior of one of my old novas stripped, its not a nice experience. And as has been said the coppers just handed me a crime number and thats it.

As you can see, not many people have sympathy for others who have had their car nicked, but as I've been a victim I can sympathise.

I'm sure if some of the people who've replied to this thread had their cars stolen, especially as most of them have built their cars up themselves, you may have found their attitiudes to be a little different.

Its hard luck, but save up for another and you'll be back on the road in no time.

gutted on the nova front, but at the minute i know that there is an investigation going on after a crash outside my house about 2 weeks ago involing a police Dog unit and a rover 25. from what we've been told it was the dog units fault and as they (cambs police) were out of thier area on norfolks area then they are being investigated by Norfolk police. now i could say they werent tring to catch real criminals but they were ment to be tring to stop a kidnapping when the crash happened.

Best bet is get your Crime number from the police get on to your insurance and get your money for what was your car....likly hood is if it turns up it'll now be in one piece and if it is then it'll be a chared smokey piece!

i'v had my first car(nova) stole bloody hell, i lost loads of stuff in the boot, EG tool box pump for the bike and so on. then i look at claming and then would have got bum rapped if i did clame. police can't doanything other than give you a number and hope it turns up. shame really i feel sorry for you hope you on the road so as matey

Give the police a break! Theyve got to spend every waking minute sat on motorway bridges to make speeding conviction targets, and then spend the rest of the day writing an essay on how they caught said speeder.

As far as i see it, dont have a go at the plod, have a go at the wanker politicians who are in charge of them, who dont know their arse from their elbow when it comes to legal matters!

I hop the guys convicted of plotting that terror attack enjoyed their slap up meal at christmas in prison, while the NHS staff had to make do with sausage on a stick!

if you want the police to do owt fit a tracker to it.

Then the tracking company will pass thew cars details onto the police who will track it and apprehend the nasties for you.

otherwise call your insurers and get a fraction for what you think the cars worth. Just make sure you dont take the 1st offer - haggle!

Its a fact of life that the police (depending on where you live) only recover a fraction of the cars that get nicked. If you live in a rural area, check the back roads or known ned hang outs - or look for a glow in the sky...
