Any one know if you have to use a sealant on the metal pipes on the petrol tank before you put the rubber hoses and jubilee clips on?

I was told to get some 'polyfold', not sure on the name. Went to buy some and the bloke at the car shop told he'd never heard of anything like that and that if i was using new tank and new hoses it isnt needed.

anyone know what that stuff would be and if its needed at all?

Nar, just a jubilee clip should be fine.

there are not many sealants about that petrol won't dissolve, you really don't want that sort of stuff in your fuel system.
just make sure everything is clean & dry before assembly

RTV "should" be ok, but in reality you dont need it, just good rubber hose and jubilie clips
