Engine Swap Help

I have a 1.4 Sri and recently the Ecu went on fire.

Im looking to buy a Gte/Gsi engine to put in place.
I'll put the Gte engine in place.

So if i use the Gte loom, can i just cut back the burnt wires, put a new connector on then plug into the Gte loom ?

And will i need to change anything else for this conversion ?

The GTE loom is totally different to a SRI loom.
So you would need swap the loom.

Firstly i would find out why the ECU set on fire, and sort that. lol

What exactly will i need to change to fit the Gte engine into my Sri ?

Just the engine i think.
Then you need the GTE loom wiring to the fuel/ignition control modules that are mounted in the engine bay of the gte.
The just splice the GTE loom into the SRI loom.
