We have a winner - Razorjack

he he he enjoyed that!

Yes thats right i should be part ex'ing my Xsara VTS for a Citroen Xantia Activa. I get picked up for work every day now so no need for expensive car sitting doing nothing on the drive.Still need a car for doing jobs and this fat lass came along.

150 bhp active suspention which pump fluid to each shock so that when you go around a corner the leaning side stiffens and makes the handling mint. Drives like a 106! Really doesnt feel like your in a big car. If it goes wrong rip the lump out and sell it to the 205 gti boys :D

Its also height adjustable. 4 settings. 1, on arse 2, normal 3, comfort 4, 4*4 take wheel off! Flick the switch rev the engine car goes up/down.

Pimp my ride

Also suspention sports/comfort button. Also hand brake is on the front wheels! Wide arches and wider track!

Do the Xantia Activa's really handle that well?

Jim

Dar
20-12-05, 02:58 PM
Apparently so.

The difference with the Activa suspension is the addition of a load of electronic trickery and 4 large hydraulic rams at each corner. Basically, as you go round a bend a car will lean (or body roll, if you prefer). The Activa system notices any body roll and adjusts the rams to compensate ? so you go round a bend perfectly level. This means that it can out handle just about anything on the road.

Mark Beeson
20-12-05, 04:39 PM
Ohhh yes they do handle well. It would suprise most people. Takes roundabout effortlessly.

Problem is that when you expect another car to handle the same you notice. Jump out of a Xantia activa then a nova! The nova ill end up in a tree.

Formula 1 technology! Its all run of a big hydro pump. Throws fluid to each corner of the suspention. The brakes run of it too. Just a switch under the pedal!

Should have it start of Jan. Ive drove it and its ace

4 large hydraulic rams at each corner.

my monza has that but it still feels like your coming to dock up in port, hence not good handling

1 question WHY?.if u needed a run about why not buy a diesel?

Will
21-12-05, 12:16 PM
cause they are boring?

Mark Beeson
21-12-05, 05:08 PM
diesels are shit! Ive had run about non turbo and there such a come down. Have you ever owned one?

Ill only be doing around 4k a year in it. So fuel consumption isnt an issue.

For ?800 notes can I go wrong?

leemh1234
21-12-05, 08:21 PM
nah i want to put a 2.0 16v turbo in my gsi but the drive shaft issue is putting me off.i got a 306 diesel runabout and it is a come down from a 1.6 8v but i get to drive my mates rst sometimes so it keeps me sane ish.

that aint bad if ur only doing a few miles then

?800 aint bad really for a 2.0 8v turbo car.
