wat exactly does blue printing your bottom end mean? :oops:

It means building the engine to exactly the original spec of its design. Ie balanced, all con rods the same weight. Exactly as it should be without any of the manufacturers cost cutting or slack tolerances.

A well built lightened & balanced engine with a flowed head is technically better.

as far as i was aware blue printing was building to the max/min of the tollerances given by the spec to give "best" power....

yep, Stuart is spot on.

normally yeilds 10-15% more power, and is generally for cars which must be std spec.

its all about optimising everything- eg i flowbench test a batch of heads and choose the best, crank is ground to a specific size etc.

for example on a 205gti stock hatch I can normally exceed 130hp from a std spec 1.6 (115bhp std)
