cant put pierburg carb e2 bak 2 gether throttle linkage

i cant get my round this how should the spring fix in plce i rebuilt it but (the 2 flaps on the bottom) only 1 will open cos the bit that should move the white arm linkage thing isnt hit ing it an the spring seems 2 catch on the bit that the throttle goes into

i must have put spring in wrong position but dont no how it should go as it fell off looked in haynes but it doesnt say anything
