steam cleaning engine

My old bus has a right oily engine and grubby engine bay . Theres a local garage steam cleaning em for ?9.99 - has anyone had theyres done ? I,ve a fair bit of wiring under the bonnet ( joins soldered and taped ) but am wary of having it done just in case of problems ?
In short - is it worth it ?

just cover all electricals with plastic bags and tape up so no moisture gets in. Main areas is dizzy cap.


If they steam clean it there wont be that much water - just lots of v hot steam. I'm sure they can advise you.

I jet washed my engine once after covering with gunk and it was fine.

Was in the summer though and wasnt being driven for a couple of weeks.
