help on nova clutch

how do i get the shaft out of a old style clutch on a nova
:cry: ideas and the haynes manual is useless when the car is as old as it is. :!:

4spd or 5 spd?

if its 4 speed then there is an allen bung in the end plate of the gearbox, if its 5 speed then you need to take the whole plate off.

then you get circlip pliers and remove the tiny clip from the end of the input shaft. then get a splined bit and remove the bolt thing. then M8 threaded bar into the hole and pull out the shaft. if its stiff bodge the threaded bar into a slide hammer.

simple really. and it is covered in the haynes (bar the 5 speed cover part)

cheerz bruv i did it wivout takin the whole plate off jus stucj a screw driver under the bolt and leverd it out and its on a 5 spd
the bearing was F***ED lol :D
