View Full Version : 1.2 or 1.4 head??
wots better a 1.2 or 1.4 head?? thanks
Which 1.4?
If carb, then the 1.2 carb is better.
not carb both spi
They both have the same ports etc.
But the 1400 has bigger bores due to bigger cylinders
There would be no benefit from fitting a 1.4spi head IIRC.

burn both of them, get a c14se head off an sri nova or astra si.
what engine do you want to fit this head to?
lol i wish i had burnt thm! got an sri head now.....and hopefully the mulitpoint.....will this all fit ??? havent i gotta change my cam cos it looks different 2 other sris??? cheers
cam remains the same.
just swap the head, and make sure you get the right inlet manifold
What are you trying to do?
Put a MPI topend onto a SPI bottom end?
yeh think so!
You will need MPI inlet, injectors etc etc.
MPI ecu, MPi loom.
And then it wont be full 1.4mpi power as the SPI bottom end is slightly different to the 1.4MPI, compression ratio is different IIRC, as the pistons.
Already got an sri head, about to buy mpi injectors inlet loom etc. any problems with fitting all this??? will it be the same power as a normal sri?? thanks

mpsi?spmi?imps?why u wanna mate 2 different engines?
you do know that if anything this is gonna be under powered compared to a normal mpi or spi.you will need the injectors etc to make it work but i think ul be disapointed by the lack of mid range.piston clearance may be a prob too but ul have to see what happens.
that said...all the best.
yeh but anything is better than the standard 60bhp i have now lol! may gettin it all for ?70 is that good or bad?? cheers
to be utterly frank, your probably best off getting a complete 1.4 sri engine (dont forget the fuel pump)
saves lots of fcuking about and missing those piccky little parts etc.
yeh it does sound like a bit of a job.......think i mite jus keep it as i 60brake beast for when i finally finish it then save up n maybe do a redtop conversion if i keep it!! cheers mate
