After months of repeatidly sanding back a few minor rust spots on the lower arch about 5-7 inches under the petrol cap I finally had enough . Out came the finest tool to man - mr angle grinder and i attacked the arch - it was rotten right thru - must have been held together by the paint . Once the offending rust had been cut back as far as to steel , it was treated and left to dry . Then as usual it rained ! I obtained some fine mesh bent it into an arch shape slapped on generouse amouts of isopon and mated it to the wounded area . All being well , tomorrow I,ll try to finish it all off , and hopefully, prime it Wednesday and final spray it on Thursday - weather permitting.
For the rest of today I,ll sit quietly in the house picking the remains of the isopon from my hands and nails - mucky stuff.
Why couldnt bloomin novas be made of plastic .....flamin rust !! :evil:
