if my temp sensor was shot would it stop the car running or starting even? what would i need to solve this? is it part of the thermostat or is it seperate all together?if anyones got any pics or advice then much appreciated.

no it wouldnt temp sender just sends signal to guage

Are we talking about an XE here or what?
There is a temp sensor for the guage and one for the ECU (cold start etc).

yeah its the mk2 astra gte engine (xe) if i tried disconecting the thermo sensor for the ecu and then started it would it work still? someone told me that the sensor can knock all your ignition timing out?is this true? austin have you got your car on another site aswell? looks mean does that blue nova! :evil:

yeah, some 1 told me that the car wouldnt start if that was fooked
