i machined them from 16v ones, but you can get them made by accralite at a price.

yes, how much do you want to want to lower compression by?

you can machine around 0.080in from them

i think matheus only has 89mm pistons from what he said. there is the option of teh spacer plate, i have a set but unsure if i will use them or not

lol you joke about that but i have a mate who had a 1lt mini and cracked the block between cylinder 2 and 3 i think and it was leaking between the two. So he gets out his welder and welds it up then grinds the weld down in bores lmao. He couldnt even be arsed to pay out for a new head gasket so he used one that was off an old engine that had been stood for years.

The thing is it ran for a very long time until he put a 1.3 in it.

spacer plate will alter your cam timing unless youve a vernier

why is that??

because youve changed the distance from the top pulley to the bottom and the blet is a fixed length.. the length has to come from the tensioning, so one pulley will rotate slightly,

same reason as when you skim the head

most piston catalogues will list gm 1.6 8v engines for the global market. gm usually list pistons for low grade fuels with a typical comp ratio of 8.2-1

kolbenschmidt (They are german) list an oversize 8.2-1 so yoou could get a 1650 turbo engine....
I am still hoping to do something with the turbo & bits from a vectra 1.7td (isuzu) on my 1.6 gte engine.
anyone know if this might be do-able because I have a dead vectra in the yard at the moment.
