Nova quick rack kits

Hi all

Got a new quick rack kit for my nova today and have tried to install it .

I have followed the Haynes manual and have managed to disassemble the rack sufficiently to get the new rack in.

However the Haynes instructions say remove the input shaft bearing with a puller - heres the shaft and bearing :-

I have tried using my puller to get it off today and it nearly bent in two !!! It seems to have been pressed on using a machine and then squeezed to keep it in one place.

Anyone installed one of these kits and if so how did you get round this bearing problem????

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

we got one off with a puller.

just apply pressure to it, add lube and tap round the bearing. leave it with the pressure on for about 10 mins, then add a little more pressure and leave, you get the idea

hey, will be doing this mself at some stage when i get into the project and was wonderin whats the "puller" cheers

how much difference will the rack make, is it worth doing? im thinking of getting 1 aswell
