since its got a bit nippy lately my carb 1.2 keeps cutting out and keeps doing this every time i put the clutch in, and the choke doesnt seem to be helpin it. ne1 know how i can solve or help this problem? could it be the plugs or ht leads as it used to be fine on cold mornings?

What do you have the choke on?

Should have it about half way out IIRC when first starting the engine.

On my dads old ford, it wouldn't even run until the choke was out.lol

I also have a few running problems in the mornings with this weather (also 1.2 carb). I do normally pull my choke out around half way (or whatever feels right) and can normally have it fully in after the engine has warmed up to the end of the first blue marker.
Can't say mine cuts out when I put the clutch in, it sometimes does it if I rev it soon after it's started (and it has been icy).

Okay so this post hasn't helped, but I'm also interested in some tips for helping on cold mornings.

do an HT service (cap rotor, leads and plugs)

you need as much choke as will allow you to run etc.

maybe have the car tuned at a krypton tuner etc
