I've just found myself a spotless nova van, with a 1.4SR engine in it. Its had a lot of time and money spent on it and it kills me driving it with all the grit on the roads, but don't have a choice since I can't afford a second car.
The engine bay does not have even the slightest bit of rust anywhere and has been resprayed and I can see grit gatering in the usual nova rust spots. I've cleaned it away but I want something that I can put over the paintwork to protect it.
Whats the best things to use?
You can get like stick on clear plastic to protect bottoms of doors etc.
Think Demon Tweeks sell it.
Make sure the underneath of the car is undersealed, and wash off any dirt/grit that gathers on after driving.
you may make things even worse covering them up with plastic and trapping in water and salt !
i wouldn't recommend doing it unless your absolutly certain the car is meraculously clean and dry or it's just been sprayed !
p.s mine is a daily driver and it's on it's 3rd chrimbo - it looks just as spotless as the day i got it !
just clean it regularly and take car on gritted roads you shoudln't have a problem
the best money spent would be on a power washer & hook it up to a hot water supply& wash the stuff off regularly

I will clean it as often as I can, but I don't think the underside is undersealed. I want to get it all steam cleaned and undersealed then I know theres no crap and wet getting sealed in with it.
Its just behind the strut tops and where the front wings meet the slam panel, in the little dimples, that is where all the grit gathers. I'm going to give under the arches, car and bonnet a good jet wash at the garage tonight and maybe get the dimples smoothed over and maybe find a way of removing the gap behind the strut tops by blocking them off with something.
Mate, just give it a good wash, Polish and wax everywhere, it'll take days but its definately worth it. As for the Under body, get some aerosol tind of under body sealent, make sure its dry and clatter the underneith of your car.
Do all this and you'll not go wrang, but repeat it once every few weeks, months, whenever you could be arsed. My engine bay and under body are immaculate and you wanna see where i drive, my car!!

Use Auto glymn products only : wax the the body and then seal it with extra gloss protection. Wash with body shampoo and conditioner.
I,ve used this stuff for about a year now and I,m amazed at the results - a couple of old friends swear blind they reckon the cars been re-sprayed. The stuffs not cheap , but its worth the results .
Underside , hose the muck off and seal with an aerosol application. will try to locate products name .
Good luck.
