There are no vacuum hoses with the carb but i know there should be, there are places for them on the carb and on that black round thingy in the pic, i just dont know where they are supposed to be attached.
Do u have any pics of yours in the car?? Anyone??

the hoses on the carb ur on about the two little kinda things that stick out right? if so i know what ur on about.
as ur looking into the engine bay with the carb in position the left one is for the pipe from the carbon box if you have that, the right one is for the small pipe that comes off the air box, if you dont attach the small (right hand side) the car will struggle a little bit to get going and for lack of better words it will suck, and u will get a high pitched noise when u drive along.u need the (right) one for hot air directly from the airbox hot air feed. if u can make heads or tails of that then FAIR-PLAY :)
Try fitting as many of the pipes as you cant, and then just try blocking off others by trial and error. I've pulled the 1400 Carb off my car and am running SPi now instead.

look in the 1.3/1.4sr features section and you should find several engine bay shots with the required pipes visible.
