Compared to my last car (mk3 feesty) The full beam on my nova seems fucking shit - not much better than normal lights. The drivers side headlight has had part of the reflective metal removed so that I could fit the Induction kit on but the passengers side light is untouched. Would not having that shiny stuff on my right light make all that much difference?

I notice on an old Mot certificate(2 months old) that two of the things it failed on was both headlights aim too high and nearside lamp aim too far to the right.

Would it be worth trying new lamps?

Also anyone hav any idea how much a new petrol tank would cost?

cheers

The metal reflector is what makes the lights shine.
Even if they are dirty it makes the lights shine crap, so if part of the reflector has been removed then thats why they are dull.

Make sure the reflectors are nice and shiny, that the bulbs are in full working order, and that the aim of the light is good.

Also try some better bulbs. I've got some old PIAA ones I used on my saloon which were bright as anything. Avoid the crappy blue ones if you want bright, aim for about 5700-6500K bulbs
