I have got a nova 1400 sr that i have stripped to a shell and the engine is in bits but i cant get the water pump out.i have drenched it i wd40 and hit it with a very large hammer and wrench but it doesnot budge.is there something i am missing?
This is the first time i've taken on a project like this(normally i go as far as topping up the oil and water etc)so all advise will be greatfully received and tried

very large hammer
sounds like you need an even bigger hamer, but the only way to get them out is twat until they come loose. Stupid question you have taken the 3 bolts that hold it in out havent you?

remove the water inlet pipe from the rear of the pump housing and get a drift in the outlet hole and knock it outwards with a 4lb hammer

that should do the trick

yeah or just get a chisel shaped piece of wood /chisel/big old flat screwdriver and knock the pump so it turns. Need a few bloody good hits.

My engine had been sat for a couple months in blokes garage.
