I've just tried an experiment with my old 13" steel wheels for this winter-season, to make them look bigger...like 16" :D

They costed me ?14.25 + some black paint, and a pack of strips...

What do you think? (sorry about the quallity..)

they look really good!

8)

would need to see them close up though - does the plastic rim actually butt up to the rubber of the wheel?

Just watch pot holes and obviously dont curb them otherwose they'll get shagged real quick.

All I did was:

1.Painted my old 13" steel alloys black

2.Bought a pack of 16" coveringplates..they costed me ?14.25

3.Removed some of plastic at the back of the 16" coveringplates, to make them fit straight on to the outside of the 13" alloys

4.Drilled 4 small holes at the side of the arms, on the 16" coveringplates

5.Connected the coveringplates to the 13" steel alloys with some strips/band trough the 4 drilled holes, and into the holes of the 13" alloys

The connecting strip/band gets quite invissible, so you won't be able to see this, unless you stand straight in front of the wheels...

The 16" coveringplates also sticks a little bit outside of the alloys, but if youre lucky you'll be able to find some coveringplates witch is easier to modify to the 13" you already have...

I guess some plastic rim models are better than others to do this with...

Personally I think I came out of it pretty good, they look spot on!!

And if any persons starts stearing at them, I'll just accellerate like hell

I'm supposed to soon update my feature. I'll put up some better pics of the car there, perhaps you all can make up your mind by looking at them there...

Would of been good to see what it was like with just the black steel's.

A mean son of a bitch prob lol.

Actually I'm from Norway lol...

It just started snowing here yesterdays, so what could be better to upgrade my 14" summer alloys with 16" lookalike winter rims 8)

I could tell you it looked like crap with black 13" steelies, in fact I think it looks much better now than what it did with the 14" I use in the summer season....

My only hope now is that the snow must be her for the rest of the year and true the hole winter :D

Perhaps this pic is showing the rims from a better angle:

LMAO, fair play for trying!

The photos look good, but I can imagine them to look less 'authentic' in the flesh!

If you take a closer look at the car, you'll see that they're plastic rims, no doubt...but it's harder to spot the 13" under the plastic rims! The meaning of this wasn't to make them look like 16" alloys, but 16" winter steelies with plastic rims

- Who the h..ll wants to pay for some 16" winter alloys for their nova???? :o

This was just an experiment I played with, and for those of you who are laughing out loud...fine

I dunno, maybe sombody with money, or maybe sombody with massive brakes which need at least 16" wheels to fit them under or maybe just somebody who bought a set of 16's from a scrappers for about ?100.
