The same as it would on a 1.4SR engine.

As the head is the same, its just the SPI is fitted instead of a pierburg carb,

Fit the head off a 1.4SRI engine, then get t40s and a inlet to a gte/gsi(round ports).
And fit that.

low pressure fuel pump (maybe tank also not sure)
Fuel pressure regulator set at 3psi.

distributor from a carb'd nova (not sure about coil)

ull need low press pump/reg, matching inlet, cables, linkage(may come with webbers) they will need setting up

you will feel the differance if you fit em to ya standard engine maby extra 5-10 bhp. but if you port it polish 4 brance help the engine breath then ull really feel it 15-25 at a guess depending how far you work the engine

time to drag benjis engine out as an example again.
he got 109bhp with a 1.4 with sri head, T40's and kent AST2 cam.

the sri head gave him apporx 10bhp gain after the other mods. even a ported sr head WONT give that kind of gain unless its been cheated with lol.

would a 1.6 head fit???

yes but it will need the EGR port blocking and a good skim to get the CR back.

can.... worms.... OPEN.

to ba fair kev, this guy hasnt got too much of a clue as to what he wants so saying mpi will fuck his mind up lol.

carbs are the easiest route, esp if you have someone good locally to tune them.

ONLY mpi it if you have the dosh/ability etc to slap in an aftermarket ECU and dick about mapping it etc to get good reliable/economical power etc.

thats the things now. money... carbs etc are ?250ish + setup, wherteas aftermarket ecu is a good ?500 + mapping if your not able to do it yourself.

yeah get the sri head but you will need a manifold to fit it get a cam and 4 branch manifold. the engine builder i spoke to thought that all these mods would see my 1400 excessing 120 bhp! but i think he was probably trying to sell me the cam

Why not just run MultiPoint injection, and leave it at that, standard.

A lot cheaper than carbs, more efficient, and still around 85ish bhp if you have a nice exhaust fitted.
