View Full Version : Chrome badges
im wanting to know where you got the chrome nova badge from, I asked my loca vaux dealer and they said they dont do them and other people say I have to make them from words like astra, frontera etc, is this true or can I but it from somewhere
whhich chrome badge do you mean? If its the gryffon logo that fits on the bonnet, you'll get them from a decent dealer. If it's the actual lettering that came with the original car (Nova 1.2 Merit for example) should still get these from a dealer - if however you wanna use the new style lettering and the new (and much naffer) style badge, you'll need to make the lettering up as the Nova stopped production before the new lettering came into affect on the new cars. Basically get a Corsa and Frontera badge and bodge them together. Can't really get capital N though for start but should look ok. Failing that just leave it debadged.

oh now, that is interesting!
...then again all lettering should be in capitals so should be no probs. Badges are a few quid from dealer or next to nothing from scrappy...

How about getting a normal nova badge from a scrappy and spraying it, thats what i did.
I got a gsi badge on my grille(here bob goes, completely OT) which I had meshed, its the standard nova jobbie but I hacked to attach it to the mesh, and I sprayed it black-dunno why,was just bored, but it looks v different, been thinking of getting the chrome badges and spraying em black for the rear,I did do myself some gold SR badges from the last of the line escort badges and spraying em,they look trick, but I aint putting em on when it says gsi at the front! lol have a play mate!
Ready for Donny 2k2???

I made my own badges for my first nova (going back a few years now).
I used some sticky-backed aluminium, cut the letters out and stuck 'em on......I thought it looked quite smart :)
You can't see it very well in this pic, but you get the idea:

I also had the lettering SL after the Nova badge, using the remains of a pair of Vauxhall and Astra badges from the scrappy.
The idea was is was half SR, half 1.2L, hence I badged it an SL lol
