Wheel well removal

Whats involved in removing the spare wheel well from the boot and replacing with a flat sheet?

Does this save any weight? affect handling much??

How difficult is this to do??

unless you are making a luducrously low racing car, or planning to alter the drivetrain or fitting a centre exhaust(just snake it round from the side)
then it is a purely cosmetic modification.

you wont get a centre exit exhaust to look right with the spare wheel well in IMO.

To take it out, cut the floor out, brace between the two chassis rails and plate back over.

I dont think it will save any weight, in fact might even be a bit heavier

would savea tiny bit on weight,
but the only real reason to do it is si you can have a center exit,
its easy to do,mines been cut out and plated ove for abou 3yrs
