I've been working on this for a while now, and should have the first pair on a car this weekend.

the Kit will consist of

300mm rotor x 2
alloy mounting bell x 2
Bolts for the above x16
caliper mounting bracket

It is designed to be used with a 2L caliper (256mm normally). The combine rotor and bell (with bolts) weighs in at 5kgs, which is the same as a 256mm std disc. So you'll gain an extra 15% in braking at no gain in unsprung mass.
This kit is similar to the ones available for the honda's made by AEM

http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-4880.cfm

Why 2 piece discs?

Cast disks warp due to the sudden heat built up on the friction face of the disc and the centre still being ambient, 2 piece discs over come this by having a different material in the centre better able to disipate the heat away rapidly. Also the over all weight of the item is substainially less than a one piece cast item (288mm V6 disc is 7.8kgs a side) meaning no increase in sunsprung mass of the vechile.

Now the price
As you can see the above kit from the states costs $495 which is ?285
Which is what I shall be selling these kits for, and postage and packing will be around ?15

I am currently investigating 4-pot calipers to go with these brakes, so will be available in the future, but not at the mo.

I need 10 ppl's names who would be interested in this for there cars.

Add your name below if you would like a set.

Cheers James

nice, how much are replacement rotors, and can they be drilled and grooved?

Replacement rotors can be purcashed from raldes for ?59.50 I believe but you'd have to check. (20.6x298.5)

As for grooved and drill I'll investigate, but I imagine it would be possible for an extra charge.

Forgot to mention that these are suitable for wheels 15" and bigger

Not too much interest? I'm offering it cause that's what my track nova will be running.
also got the calultor out and there's a increase of 46% surface area, to dissipate heat meaning you can work them really hard and they won't get heat loaded as much and will dissipate it much better due to the 2-piece construction meaning virtually no risk of warping.

For comparision next to some 256mm discs.

Seems like a lot of money considering what you can pick up a set of Wilwoods etc for.

It's not the calipers that this is an upgrade on, it's the disc. And the weight of the discs over the alternative. If you want a 285mm upgrade from hispec it's not much less but you have a disc that weighs a ton and affects the handling acceleration due to the increased unsprung mass and weight increase alone. Plus they are easier to warp as they are single one piece cast discs.

First pic on the car:-

I must disagree, I would go down the Willwood route. ?300 for some discs? You will still only have a single piston caliper and slider with 'standard' pads. How can you say that it has 46% increased braking area? Does the pad get bigger? You say that it dissipates heat better, it wont. It will take longer to get warm and take longer to cool down. For the little extra money you get 4 pot calipers, braided lines, and a choice decent brake pads which will be much cheaper than 'performance' pads for teh ATE calipers.

willwoods are not all they are cracked up to be, they cause unneven pad wear mainly, and get vibration after a while,

ok if your using race pads that are often changed but for road use they will cause u problems on the cheap willwoods

I havent had a problem with mine, I had put 2 sets of pads through them, first set was basic and the second set were race/track pads. I have no problems with uneven wear, or any vibrations. Even using race pads on the road isnt a problem, on a track you notice it but on the road they are fine when cold, i.e on a track they wont work 100% straight away but on the road you dont get up to speed to warrant the pads warming up, also the pads are roughly the same price as the 'performance' pads for ATE/V6 calipers.

Only my opinion though

Chris
