I like the idea in principle, but for show cars only.

In an impact carbon fibre doesn't bend like metal, it shatters into lots of very sharp shards, just what you want in a crash!

Get a bendable bonnet, while were on the topic, how would you go about drilling carbon?

never tried drilling carbon fibre, but i would say to treat it like a bathroom tile . get some heavy duty making tape on there and pilot it with a small bit and don't put much pressure on at all.

anyone else know of a better way????

good quality HSS drill bits and away you go. as said dont put too much pressure on there, let the speed do the cutting
