Project Purple Haze!!! (56k Warning) ****UPDATED!!! 14-1***

Well a few might no i started a project a while back........but it stoped!!

well its started again and this time i aint giving up until its finished!!

i now have my slam panel on!!!!

all the bay was then rubbed down a few plates welded in then seam sealed! my wings were put back on and so was the grill to see if it all lined up!!

then the bay was sprayed Rover Amaranth (sorry about pics they were took on a phone)

and then i painted my engine!

well the engine is back in now but not yet runing for a few minor reasons!
its getting there gradualy but theres not that much left to do before i can get the full car sprayed them my interior in!!!

got my GSi kit now, just need a slam panel and then remove spare wheel well!

next summer ill have a minted SR! complete with engine rebuild and re-spray! :lol:

well been working hard over the last few weeks.....

and i thought i would update you all.....

sorry no pics though as my cam decided to pack in on me!!!

well the engine is now fully in and running..took a few goes to get her going but in the end there was no trouble!! It had almost new everything:

Timing belt, fan belt, water pump, oil, filters, plugs, leads, stater motor, gasgets, radiator......the usual realy....

i wasnt planing on changing the stater motor but as the engine had been standing for about 6-7 month it was rather seized and would not turn.. :x

it sounded rather like a tank for awhile as i didnt have my exhaust but it eventualy arived along with my interior...

erm.....put the petrol tank back on with all new pipes...

and did the brakes! now have Cav gsi front calipers and bigger discs....

ooh and i got my self 2 mint doors and a strut brace!!! :lol:

well thats all for the current update!

i will try and upload some pics later on this week when i can get round to it!

im aiming for it to be all sprayed for late january early feburary!

Is the blue paint on the engine actual engine paint? Where can i get a tin of blue high temp paint in a tin to brush on? Tried all my local paint suppliers and they all think it doesnt exist. Fools.

it isnt high temp paint mate! all it is is 2pack paint like what you would paint a car with! mixed with thinners and hardner!

aint had no bubbles yet and its been on a while now!


well out of all the things i had planned today all i got done was painting the drivers door check! and im now realy pissed off because when i was spraying it i must have blew the paper back with the gun and got paint on my headlinning!! :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

well...i have my interior lying round in the garage getting dirty so i need to get that it but then i thought it wud be better to paint behind the doors and behind the boot before it goes in incase the masking doesnt work (like last nite :evil: :evil: ) and i end up getting paint all over my interior. So...now ive painted my door checks and the boot check i can put my interior in as it meens that when i come to spray the whole car i dont need to open the doors and risk getting paint on my interior. 8)

i thought it made sense when i came up with the idea! :wink:

and novamadcars im going to use about 2lts 21/2 lts of paint for the whole respray then about a ltr to a ltr and a half of laquer.

mines similar scott but a bit more bulky around the sides and it has the bit in the middle that covers a bolt!

Standard skirts mate,they have a added part on the front and smoothed lines (witch i wish was not there now,as i catch it on everthing now the car is properly lowerd :lol: ) The rear part used to be meshed when i had it kitted etc,but it fell out :roll:

since the interior has been out off for a while i decided that too keep myself busy i would start putting a recess in my rear bumper just so it looked a little better!

i also bought my rear gmax shocks today and nearly got took to hospital when he told me the price lol!

stil to come.......

1) brakes (to be done in the next week)
2) interior and exhaust (if they ever come)
3) Paint!!! (after the above to are completed and i have the money)
4) wheels (decide what ones im putting on*)

*at the min i have a set of 15" smiths 5 spokes that i will be getting powdercoated. may look into getting a set of Softstars if i can find some (opinions please)

5) add finishing touches! get MOT'd and taxed also get the alarm fitted! and finish fitting ICE!

:wink: hi scott - i made this spoiler about 4 years ago - bought the top section from a mate - had no manufacturers stamps or anything on it - I had to fabricate the middle section myself tho, def not a saxo one as have checked :) probably something worse like perodua or summat lol

Recess continued..........but stil not complete!

started a little more on my recess today...(will be finished 2moro)

first got a metla grider as a mould and slapped some fibre glass on......

thats all for pics...

the recess is all fibreglasses to the bumper via the reverse side and looks rater neat. the upper edge is also pot riverted to the carryin iron holder so that it is held on with a little more stregnth.

tomorrow i will get more pics and will start the bodge to finish it off!

I am going for my interior and exhaust on friday afternoon!!!! so they will be fitted by sunday!!!!

i also get my rear shocks tomorrow so my car will be fully lowered by tomorrow night!
