once you:
1. add xtra weight - ie a 2.0 XE
2. add wider lower profile tyres
3. lower it

you alter the camber of the front wheels
look at it from the front and you will see they are no longer as upright as an un modified car. They are angled in so that the inside of the tyres does the most of the work. This accentuates the wear on the inside which is made worse by greater speeds and cornering forces from the faster engine and not having it tracked up properly.

The solutions are:
1. getted it properly tracked up to be pretty much neutral with a hint of toe out.
2. do the top mount mod which involves re-drilling the holes that secure them at the top further towards the outside of the car
3. or buy an adjustable top mount which has the added bonus of allowing some adjustment in caster (how far the centre of the wheel is relative to the top mount securing point)

yes mate check the tracking as my tyre went like that because of the tracking was out
