Got an email from the FairFuelTax people. Costs sod all so got to be worth a look.

I am pleased to say that the campaign is making great progress. The tax issue has not gone away but we are now in discussions with a major fuel retailer to negotiate discounts on petrol across the whole of the UK. This will be achieved through a special discount card which will be issued free of charge to all our members as soon as the group is large enough.

didnt this kinda thing NOT get off the ground like with Drax or what ever they were called?

Drax were very different, they were trying to become a cunsumer fuel retailer with no forcourts and were also relying on a taxation loophole that didn't exist.

PipelineCard is working in conjunction with a major UK retailer to bring this discount....I guess put simply this is a loyalty card.

I've noticed the price has fallen! its 87.9p for unleaded at my local shell, and the 99 RON super unleaded at tescos cost me 91.9p - not bad, going in the right direction!

but that kind of "loyalty" card sucks as you only tend to get 1% back.... which if you were to apply that to current fuel costs is between naff all and fook all lol

what is needed is a bulk buy kind of scheme where you just fill up and it goes on your account and a tthe end of the month you pay for what you used, this can be treated as one big lump of fuel that would allow for a good discount, and obv the more you use the cheaper per litre it gets. Just like bulk buying other stuff works.

that 99 ron stuff is "ok" if your car can adjust (and id hope a gt4 could lol) but it made the omega run fecking hot :s
