So heres a few photos of my weekends work.

Started life as this, my J reg 1.2i runaround, which I've been smoking around in for the last two years and 50,000 miles.

Heres how it looked at the start. (a bit large i know..)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Austin/rwd%20nova/DSC00146.jpg

Sorted some new yoko's and suspension (cheers Cornish!) last week along with some new bushes, to get the basics of the car good (with brakes to come...)

Fishined work on friday, picked up some primer and paint and got to work on the car at around 3pm.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Austin/white%20nova/1_bay.jpg

Stipped sown the front end, drained the coolant, and got started on detaching the engine.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Austin/white%20nova/2_bay.jpg

Got the engine out, and started attaching the mounts to the 16v lump which I got for a bargin 200quid with a rotton cally attached...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Austin/white%20nova/3_engine.jpg

Then set about cleaning all the seams up in the bay and under arches with the grinder with brush attachment. Worked a treat and was fuckin rapid! Cut a chunk out for the alternator, and chopped the drivers side mount off to lower.
Then got the welder fired up.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Austin/white%20nova/4_welding.jpg

All welded and ready for a sessioning in the morning. Time for the pub.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Austin/white%20nova/5_weldingdone.jpg

Got up Satarday, and started cleaning down the bay area. Gave it a good old blast with the primer and then some white.

Went up the scrappy to get the correct mount for the drivers side, which came off of a mk2 cav in the end..

Got home, and the bay was dry, so started installing the valver.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Austin/white%20nova/6_enginein.jpg

Had previously made some brackets to spacer the box over and modded the cav mount as it fouled one on the exhasut manifold studs. Also ground the lug off the box and the back on the inlet manifold.
Went straight in. hasstle free.

Didn't want to waste a satardey, so finished early and headed out for food and drinks. got wankered.

Started Sunday, feeling a bit fragile. Cracked on with the water pipes and wires. And put the bottom arms back on with brakes, suspension etc.

Thought it time to call it a day once it was rolling, as wasn't up for welding and had a booked day off on monday.

Started monday, and welded the exhasut up. I kept the standard cally manifold, and cut the cat out of the 1,2 system, then welded the front part of the cally system to the nova sytstem. Suprisingly, not too much of a differance in pipe diameters between the two ends.

Bolted it all up, sorted a broken wire on the ign feed to the coil, and it started straight up with some load banging from the tappets. Gave it half an hour and it sounded mint.

So now my 1.2i runaround is now a 2.0 16v sleeper runaround. and it goes fuckin well!
I know people always complain about how shite the yokos are in the wet, but i've been hammering it around, and with full interia and a box in the boot it handled very poitively! Well happy!

Had a binding brake poblem today, so nipped to get some copper grease, thought i'd get a couple of photos in true nova fassion.... outside halfords

Im not really into my big body kits, air suspension and lambo doors. But its intresting watching the boys fit the lambo doors! And he gets some lush motors in and out of the workshop all the time.

Got an E46 M3 in at the mo, got a carbon wing, carbon front splitter etc...
