advice on welding in patch panel 4 battery tray

its rotten so gunna cut out the rot n weld in a new piece

does any know what is underneath battery tray dont want a nasty suprise when i cut it out wi grinder also r parts of it double skinned

does any 1 have pics of this being done?

I have no pics doing it but I have done it.

It is quite a nasty place to weld, ideally, you need to have someone underneath checking you dont set the carpet alight. As far as I can remember, it is single skinned, but depends on how bad the hole is as to where you need to cut the metal back from.

Under mine were some wires dangling down as well, so its mainly wires and carpet you need to keep an eye out for..

mel when u did urs how much did u cut out ive cut from bulkhaed up 2 the chanel in the middle n theres loads of sponge sound deadening stuff under whats left an it well flameable did u av the same problem ? u cant pull it out cos cant get ur hand in far enouhg it goes along the full lentgh of bulkhead
