as you peeps know i had an XEd mk1 nova on allessios with valver brakes n decent shocks n springs, totally standard everything else, but the dash was really irratating me, not only did most the bulbs not work, but there were a couple of melted bits from cigarettes i think :( so i started work :)

this was the offending item...

http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/3734/ye_olde_dashe.jpg

and after some unbolting it was removed...

http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/3734/naaaaked_dash.jpg

the wiring was a pain in the bum...the reason why mk2 conversions have cold heaters and low setting on blowers, is because the plug looks the same but the wires are all in the next slot round, only offering 1 setting!

next up we got the mk2 dash and gsi dials wired in:-

then i set about finding a mk2 red sri interior to go with the uber dash, and low and behold, it works well:-

chrome cage n allessios were on it...im in 2 minds as to whether to get some vectra rims ala dec burkes old machine :) just want some red sri door cards and leccy windows now, then probably do some detail on the engine bay, make up some leccy mirrors, and i want some carbon fibre here n there...
I have been trying to get hold of some mk1 headlight protectors, i know they exist! and im painting drums silver or bk,and possibly stripping rear beam and painting it silver...and im looking into a euro foglight cluster,as well as adapting a leccy sunroof kit so i can fit the trim panel over without hacking the roof about :)

Give it some rev

trying to get it to how i feel vauxhall should have got it,but i do like alot of feedback and to bounce ideas round...i no longer have a cigarette lighter :P i have fitted a meriva power point in place of it :) and i am after doing away with the clock in the centre console somehow :( got a corsa gear gaitor fitted but cant work out how to tuck in the handbrake gaitor, mite fit some corsa b door pins...just means enlarging the door holes a ickle bit.

Rain has stopped play at present today though :(ooooh got an MG zr chequered flag/union jack badge thats going on glovebox i think :)

Car looks stunning, wouldn't change anything on it except getting rid of the roll cage and getting a less bling one.

mk2 dash took a fair while, mainly due to me havin missing parts lol!!! best bit of advice i can give is get all switches, and plugs with a length of loom, and remember to get the heater cables!!! then its a case of bolt the dash in,easy as....but there is some soldering involved,or if ur a bodger alot of chocblocking.

The cage was in the car when i got it,i may get rid of it at some point but im liking it at the moment :) ive decided im going to fit leccy sunroof but mod the surround so i dont have to chop the roof i think...thats a job for when i find a surround to butcher :)

I want some brand new headlights to hopefully make the front a bit crisper

How original is the paintwork on that? has it had a full restoration? Such a clean example, absolutely love that!

i know its had one rear qtr on,and a wing is suspect but i think alot of it is original :) the engine bay is untouched appart from stitch welding, the doors seem to be original, the tailgate does seem to be original, roof is obviously lol, theres a bit of rot behind bk bumper i need sorting asap :( but no money for welding....think there is a tiny bit of eating behind the headlights too.

for the proper buffs, the bonnet is original and undented :D but i think one door has a small dent in and the rear qtr does bout the size of a penny :( it has had one rear qtr glass replaced too, different reg on it :(

i have been thinking long and hard about a single wiper with smooth arm...and some mudflaps..then i want to do some tidying of the engine bay, silver lockwood dials possibly, some vauxhall footmatts if i can get some to fit, and i neeeeeeed electric windows and red sri door cards fitting, and im looking at making opening rear qtrs...

Very nice Rob,is its worth trying to mess with the windows???

As foir paiting the wheels i dont recon it would be a good iead to go grey, but i do think they might look nice in white though... :P

Quick mess..

lol i had also fort about whiteys...think i will leave em silver...just ideas :)

I have some spare rear SR frames, what i was going to do,was see if astra gte mechs fit in these, the way interbreeding goes on vaux, i think they should :) then its just a case of glass and rubber...rubber should not cost too much, and neither shud some windows to play with...we will see.

I saw a set of opening rears on german ebay go for 164 euros
