Do it yourself, is easy if you ask enough questions.

I know a guy in oxfordshire that will supply and fit for about ?1200 if you dont want to try yourself.

Would have to discuss with him really as i am just a friend and only know his rough pricing, he can take it as far you want.

Think hes on holiday for a week or so but will speak to him when hes back.

Basicaly i would say its just a case of gettgin all the patrs together you want/need(drive shafts, hubs, brakes, susspension,hh kit?,-basic parts for job like engein and gear box etc)and then you need some who can welld, after that its just nuts and bolts etc,but the weelding is the main thing.

Whot a unrealistic quote.

If your looking at spending anywhere near that sort of cash look around for a decent one already done for sale.

Plenty out there, just make sure its a good conversion.

if you do it properly yourself your still looking at 1000-2000k as it did for me.

Cheap conversions generally fall to pieces lol

Not the case, you would argue the point as you work for JN but ?5k is ridiculos, its 3 days work if you weld+paint bay and rebuild engine.

You can get an engine to owe you nothing by buying a donor car (if not then ?300 for engine and box etc), if you but the conversion kit your looking at around ?150-200, full cambelt kit, waterpump, service kit is about ?80 all in.

So if you buy everything then your still looking at ?5-600 top whack.

all the cheap ?100 labour ones i've built are still going strong... including the 5hr 1.6i > 2.0 16v conversion

Just novas make me laugh

i was down there today getting quotes for stuff

a GTE engine, Gearbox, loom etc.. they would charge me ?400 lol

for a tank with lines they said ?150

where as on here or other sites you can get the engine and everything for around ?150 and ive kinda got a tank and lines sourced for ?30 ish

makes me laugh, got one decent quote tho. a bloke who they know can supply and fit a rear arch and paint it for ?150 per side. not to shody

Dont bother with fuel lines awkward to use the 2nd hand ones and to move them around, tanks are ?20, engines can pick em up for anything between ?free-150
