That noise that rally cars make?

I was on exercise in Sennybridge (Wales) and we (the army) had to wait to get onto the training area because of a rally going on. When it had finished we got to start playing. Were any of you guys on the rally, you might have seen me - I was the guy pointing the big machine gun at you from on top of my tank - anyway, some of the cars that looked 'rally' made a different noise to the other cars, kind of like a whiny whirry noise, any ideas?

some would have had straight cut geatboxes, which whine like a mofo (kinda like the noise your car makes in reverse, but all the time.

same goes with old people i remember going into a multistory car park in the nova an having it at rather high revs. Only to have some old people cut me off an tell me the car was illegal because my exhaust had fallen off. No it hasnt, anyway it was probably the arbs making most the noise. The when i started to get pissed off because they realy did think they were right start flicking the ignition on an off in true chav style lmao, BOOM BOOM they soon went away after their hearing aids fell out.

You can Re-enact any sound you want fella, Just open the window and go Whiiiinnnneeeeeeeeeee for a while. people will instantly think you have a Dog Box... or another good one is to go Whooseee tiissshhhh and then people will think you have a turbo or how about shouting Barrrrrrr Barrrrrr Na na na na na na then people will think your cars well fast init with a really loud zorst and limiter, so you must be going well fast.
