View Full Version : Removal of spare wheel well...
I've got a pretty good idea on how to do this, seal it etc.
But, just for reference, If anybody has done this Weight saving mod, please let me know how you did it.
I'm going to be using a sheet of Ally as opposed to steel to gain further weight loss as it isnt a structual part of the car.

I just got an angle grinder and cut it out :P
it may not be that structural but still a very good idea to strengthen between the chassis legs
I put my battery in mine to even the weight out a bit.
As in battery in the well?
Thinking about leaving it in then, as to brace it up etc would add the same weight if not more so pointless really.

just make sure it's vented to outside

Batteries let out a rather nasty gas when theyre being charged.
prehaps i had better box mine in and vent it then... its in the passenger footwell lmao

can you weld ally onto steel? I didnt think so in which case a thin sheet of steel welded. Unless you pop rivet in a sheet of ally and just seal it well...
Yeah cheers matey, Nice tube or sikaflex and pop rivots.
