View Full Version : does the fuel pipe behind the filler cap come off?

well, just got me new fuel cap as the old one is stuck on, as the key snapped off in it! (aftermarket one)

just need to know if i can dissconect the fuel pipe behind the filler cap, so i can drill through the old fuel cap without getting bits in the tank.

will drilling through it work?

there are 3 screws that hold the filler pipe to the bodywork, BUT the fuel cap locks into the pipe itself.

just hammer a chisel into the lock and try to turn it?

pretty much yeah, nova locks are quite easy to break. You see when you have a go.

it bloody worked, took a couple of hits with the lump hammer.

you know when the fuel cap is off the car, is the ment to be a rubber seal on the car where the cap goes on to?

told you it would work, not sure about the rubber seal i can actually remember
