hi peeps need your advice. me and me mate have fitted 2l 16v brakes and a nova gte servo and master cylinder to his 1.4 sr. only problem is there is far to much pedal travel. when you get to the floor fair enough they work fooking well but your at the floor which aint good. ive had a look in the haynes and its got nothing about pedal adjustment so how can i get it to bite higher??

has the brake lines been pressurised, or you bleeded them manually?

either that or there might be a air leak on the servo

calipers are the right way up, no air leak, and tried bleeding them with the presurising system and bled them manually. the brakes work really well , enough to lock the wheels. its just there is far to much movement. your almost at the floor before they do anything :?

Master cylinder seals gone maybe?

Master cylinder seals gone maybe? but the pedal is solid it doesnt sink to the floor as it would if the seals were gone

adjust the pedal then, but be carefull not to adjust too far and ahve the brakes on permaently lol

there is a 19mm nut at the end of the rod that leads to the big ass bar that goes across the car, un do that and then rotate the bar from the pedal to raise/lower the pedal. Travel will possibly remain the same but it will bite higher up etc...

agree with stu here, i had to do this when I fitted the V6 calipers, but then on the wilwood's they were binding so I had to back it off a bit

i take it you do mean the nut on the rod that connects the pedal to the relay bar or is there a rod on other end that connects the relay bar to the servo??

if they are new disc's/pads they will take a while to bed in.

My uprated black diamond ones felt like someone sprayed wd40 on the disc's for the first 100miles. thought my brake servo had gone.

they stop sweet now though.

standard pads shouldn't take so long to bed in.

checked for small leaks?

this happened with mine, you wouldnt notice the leak, we put the car on newspapers and pumped the brakes and there was a little leak
