XE is tapping eeeeeeek

alrite people...the mighty XE has been off road for a month and i started it up first time in ages today...and i know theres virtually no petrol in talk cos it was on yella lite last time i used it!

it has a tappy sound on start up n thru to warming, then it quietens but remains, could the injectors be struggling themselves senseless? i am going to change oil n filter b4 using again among many other things, mainly cosmetics though. Anyways bk to the question...can people point me in rite direction? was NOT doing it b4 i took off road! any help appreciated!

XE's tap its the rule.

All XE's struggle with this, its not a real problem if it bothers you then do a flush and it will go for a while.

As ben says it will prob be the hydraulic valve lifters, do a engine oil flush and see if it gets rid of the noise. Might need to take the lifters out and clean them or replace if its realy bad. Noting to worry about though.
