in nearly all novas if you take out the hazard switch and turn it upside down and put it bak in all the ignition lights come on..so all you have to do to start is bump it down the road. So my advise is take it out!

If you have a alarm/immobiliser you wont be able bump it if you interrupt the fuel supply wire on electric pump.
I read somewhere you can also modifiy the switch/wiring to prevent it.

another way to do it, is to melt the plastic over the spare hole, so it can't be turned upside down ;)


OH and.... this only applies mk2, and maybe mk1's with mk2 dash's

not as if nobody knows about it, most car theifs will just snap and cap it
would be easier than trying to push a car down the road and bump start it lol

in all fairness if youve got a nova "worth" stealing then you will have an immob on that stops this bypass.
if youve jsut got a boggo nova then no car theif will want it lol

in a way thats a lie, i had a boggo one, and it got stolen, and took or a joy ride :(

some of the electrics dont work when this tricks done - such as the fan, therefore its not gonna be long till the car over heats and foooks the engine. same trick works in a few places on the nova when theres a 12v permenant live and an ignition live that can be bridged together. as said if its worth nicking get an alarm!

the lock isnt exactly the strongest thing in the world is it? and it is not very hard to sort out, anybody with 3 brain cells could nick a nova without doing any damage whatsoever

i have a mk1 nova and the hazrd switchs cant be switched because i have to desmantle the all thing to do that lol
