How do i get my rocker cover looking like this:-
http://i15.ebayimg.com/04/i/05/26/f7/44_1_b.JPG

Is it just a case of wet and dry, then polishing it with something like brasso?

i rubbed mine down with a wire brush on a drill........brings it up nice and clean.

i suppose that you can give it a coat of engine laquer after that to keep it that way but i chose to paint mine.....

just paint the head as its easyer, cause trying ti keep it clean ehen its on the car would be a c**t,
and its a 12peice polishing kit,was a name,just did a search on ebay,
the cheapest kits are 4 peice,
rockers cover was easy, whats a cam box?

Benn

course sorry
not thinking about things,
as would have thought it would be easyer to paint that for the easie of keeping clean,
but it can all be polished

Right get this.... To strip all the crap of your rocker covers (mainly on ohc ones) wont work on XE types.. as its just a very slight lacker and in some casess had a thin layer of waxoil on,the best thing to soak it in to remove all the layers without scratching it is..Coke cola, you wont ever want to drink it agina when you see how soft the covering go's affter letting it soak over night(oh it need not be coke it can be safeways/tescos owen brands) but the high acid level in it will soften it all up enough to help you remove it easy, might need one or more soaks but you should get most off,and then use very fine wire wool on it to remove bits in hard areas/edges etc, then just use very fine rubbing componds and then it's trial and erroe on what types of alloy polish you use,as some get them up better then others etc.
