Carb

port shape will be better, and the CR will be increased BUT the 1.6 head has larger valves.... so you will lose there

id say you will not gain/lose anything...

Wot dose cr stand for will the bigger valves go in to the 1.3 head??? :?

cr means compression ratio.

the valves will fit, but you'd need the seats recutting and then they would need blending into the head... looking at about ?200ish to get that all done for naff all gain.

also bear in mind that your square port 1.6 carb inlet manifold wont line up right with the 1.3head.

I was planning on putting the 1.3 ported head a piper cam & pully do you think its worth my while i have a weber,de cat pipe and a magnex system on the cavay engine at the mo

id say get a 1.6 gsi head as opposed to the 1.3 head.

otherwise your simply throwing good money after bad adding the extras onto the 1.3 head on a 1.6 bottom end.

read the tuning guides at the topof the page

De cat pipe
De-cat on a carb engine :?

Your 1.6carb inlet wont fit a gte/gsi head either, no standard carb inlet will fit it.
You can get t40s and a round port t40 head to fit.

If you want to fit a gte/gsi head you would probably be best to use gte/gsi injection system, but you would need loom, ecu etc then.

Yeap its a 93 nova with a late 92 cavalier engine in it wot about a 1.4 sr head i dont wana go on to injection :?

in all fairnes if your trying to build a fast engine your wasting your time.

the 1.6 carb engine is something like 82 bhp, compared to the injection version thats 100bhp.

you will have to spend a fair bit to get the 82bhp engine to be somewhere near that of the injection one.

the 1.4 SR head owuld be worse than the 1.3 ported head you mentioned.

Just looking to bring the carb up to 100bhp

its "possible" to get the 1.6 carb to 100bhp, although a tad pointless as it would be massively cheaper to swap it for a gte.gsi engine lol

id say its gonna cost about ?300ish to make the carb upto 100bhp, whereas the gte/gsi engine will cost about ?100....

Just stick with the head you have then, and save money.
