i've got hold of a nova GSi lump and diesel gearbox, just wondering if anyone has had his combination before? and if so what sorta performance figures are we talking?

im fairly certain they wont mate, due to diff engine make's
the derv, is made ym izuzi (or how ever you spell it)

but i could be wroung

the box is on the engine now m8 8) its been in a car running, but i dont know what it performed like when it was in the car, i aquired the engine off a friend you see :lol:

on the end plate of the gearbox (passenger side wheel arch) there will be a number and letters stamped into it... get that and post it up.

also look on the top of the box near the selectro turret and see what F number it is.

will be slow accelerating but very high top speed (if it can get there) and good economy

thought it would accelerate quicker with the ratios being lower :?

No it would accelarate quicker, seen a few RS turbos with a diesel gearbox to get up the strip quicker.

they are are higher...the td doesn't have as many revs to play with so needs longer gears to get any top end speed

P628 is one of the numbers i can see, theres no code beginning with an F though lie most of the vauxhall gearboxes though :?

You can see the W418 stamped on the end plate here next to the earthstrap
