Has any one any ideas for making a new inner arch to fill the gaps in behind the new rear wide arches after it has been cut away and the wide arch fitted? What material would 1 use? Or how would i go about curving it to the shape of the new arch? The bits i'm talking about is where the wide arch meets the quater pannel close to the door and sills, and also the place directly under the arch to meet the new arch. So 1 here has bound to have done it b4. thanks lads
im not sure what material, probably fiber glass sheeting if you can even buy it anywhere? thats if the kit youve got is fiberglass??
all i will say is good luck!

if i needed to do this then i would first remove the exsisiting arches. i would then lightly bond some this bridging mesh to the exsisting inner arch. then i would place the new arches in place, bending in the mesh till it sits right and fills the open gap, then remove the arches and apply several layers of fibre glass (resin and matting not paste). this should be applied to both sides of the mesh and over lapping the exsisting inner arch to make a sandwhich. once this has set it can be trimmed easily with an angle grinder, the arches can be fitted and everything can be sealed with a poly sealer.
i had sent this to you by pm but thought i'd put it in here because the question will be asked again.
Before i fitted the new arches i put a series of vertical cuts in the original arch (roughly every 40mm or so) and then folded all this in and up. I then flatened with a hammer and welded all these strips up into the top of the original arch.
Now with the new wide arch fitted there is a gap between it and the old one so i filled this with expanding foam and left a piece of cardboard up underneath it until it was gone fully hard. (you can only put in a certain amount of foam per day as it will never all set otherwise)
When hard i shaped the foam with a gringer into a fairly even curve.
Then i put on fibreglass matting and resin and once all this was dry and i was happy with the shape i sprayed the lot with black underbody sealer.
It looked good and was a solid job.
If you have the hollow sideskirts that come with this kit i drilled holes in the bottoms and filled with more expanding foam. makes them solid too.
Hope that all makes sence
You can buy a generalised pre-formed mud guard that can be cut to fit. One cut in half lengthways can do the 2 opposite sides. The hot rod racers make special wing extensions with them to keep other vehicles off their tyres and the stop the mud and stuff from flying all over but they could be modded to fit in as an inner arch. Try asking at a panel spares place that flog new body panels?

Trailer arches for example? often used at the back of grassers - cut in half like you said, about ?25 each from trailer shops
or you could just nick some of a artic in the middle of the night?
go on, be a scally! lol
