ive got a scratching noise coming from my steering column. is this bad

Have you got a different boss on the colum?
Mine touched the cowling around the steering colum and that sounded like scratching.

sorry mate what a boss in lamends terms its only just started doing it i havent changed a thing however it does sound as if something is rubbing rather than something serious. p.s vids are quality

A boss is the thing you need to put on the colum before you fit an aftermarket steering wheel. Its apart of the standard steering wheel.

Check around the cowling for any rub marks. Or try and find where the noise is coming from and look for rub marks there.
