i`ve seen some nice nova`s on here,i`ve still got a wee soft spot for them although i currently don`t have one just now as i`m currently owning 3 mk1 astra`s as toys and have no room for a nova at the moment to play with.

this is GTM in 1984,she is an ex works rally car and probably the oldest mk1 gte in britain as it`s a prototype and was used by vauxhall as a test/press car prior to them then turning it into a rally car

Very nice mk1 astras there mate,i have a soft sopt for them so its always nice to see some more still alive.

As for the nova that looked ace,is it the Rally X wide arch kit it ahd on?
Also do you have a rough Spec of what it was running?

webber twin forties carbs with trumpets and socks
twin throttle cables
irmscher inlet manifold
4 branch exhaust manifold
straight through rally exhaust with single tail box
f13 sc/cr gear box with 4:53 crown wheel and pinion
zf 40% lsd
oil catch tank
facet twin red top fuel pumps
facet fuel pressure regulator

10 mm alloy sump gaurd

no probs mate i did the lot incase anyone else asks then it`s all there.

i do miss her,i sold her for just under five grand at the end of the 2002 season and she went on to do one more rally or maybe two then iain shirlaw from eurorallye broke her up as he could make more money selling her in parts,so she is now dead :x but many off her parts are probably still going around in different nova`s today,so in a way it still lives lol :D

yes mate i`ll probably build another rally car in a year or two after i`ve got the mk1`s sorted out as i can`t really use the works rally car for rallying as it`s far to rare now to crash lol as it`s the only prototype and works car known left to exist according to vauxhall,so it`s more of a show car now i`m afraid.

i think the next one i`ll run with a suzuki swift twin cam engine as the 1300 class is extremely competitive and great fun :D

Thinking about a swift GTi engine, Good choice. I've got some info here if you want it i was thinking about doing the conversion a while ago but due to cost's and lack of mechanical knowledge i decided to keep it simple and go with the 16se with twin 40 route.

Keep up the good work and get yourself a solid little nova to play with I'm sure your eager to get another one lol 8)

if i do get another i think it`ll probably be a proper nova sport and i`ll go from there either making it a mint standard show car or buying one already rally prepared like the one on ebay recently.

i`ve plenty of time to mull it over as i`ve got a good year or so work ahead of me with the mk1`s :D
